According to Premium Times in Abuja no less than 7 people were killed on Sunday as rival vigilante groups clashed in Adamawa state. The battle was allegedly to have broken out during a coronation of two officials from Union Of Nigerian Hunters in Combo.
Miss Buba, a resident in the area reported that 7 local Hunter were killed during the clash, while 19 others had been rushed to a nearby hospital due to various injuries.
According to Muhammad Tola, state chairman of the hunters association, hunters who were loyal to the other faction entered the coronation while it was still under way and began during shots sporadically.
Tips revealed that he had asked members of his faction not to retaliate thereby limiting the number of casualties.
Rivalry group leader Muhammad Yaki had since reacted to the development denying that his faction has initiated the attack. Police have confirmed that investigation into the incident are currently under way.
